Many Optimum 8 scissor lifts are being used at Singapore’s Changi Airport Terminal 5 construction site located at Changi East.

The machines, rented out by Aly Energy, are used to assist workers on various ceiling works including the ventilation system at a new three storey building, a part of landside facilities of the airport.

Haulotte Singapore Trainer, Mr Tin Maung Lynn, was on site in August 2016 to update the Optimum 8 AC software and calibration for overload relays.

The new development consists of a terminal and a runway in addition to Changi Airport’s four Terminal and two runways and will be built on reclaimed land.

Building on two phases, it has started other parts of the site with excavation and piling works.

Changi Airport Terminal 5 is said to be 10 times larger than Vivo City shopping mall, the largest shopping mall in Singapore and it is expected to open by 2020 and once completed, Terminal 5 will be able to handle 50 million passengers a year, with a total capacity of up to 135 million passengers a year for Changi Airport.
